Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Health Convenience telehealth, membership, wellness labs, medications, and employer plans.

General

What is Health Convenience?

Health Convenience is a HIPAA-compliant telehealth practice serving all of Florida. Our licensed providers treat common conditions asynchronously — no video call or waiting room. Submit your visit online and receive a provider review within 24–48 hours.

Who are the Health Convenience providers?

Our team includes Pedro Alvarez PA-C (Founder), Ivis Alvarez ARNP, and Medical Director Dr. Adam Leisy MD. All providers are licensed in Florida and board-certified in their respective specialties. Meet our team.

What states does Health Convenience serve?

We currently serve patients located in the state of Florida only. You must be physically in Florida at the time of your visit.

How do asynchronous telehealth visits work?

You complete an online intake form describing your symptoms and medical history. A licensed provider reviews your case within 24–48 hours and sends a personalized treatment plan, which may include prescriptions sent directly to your pharmacy. No video call needed.

Is Health Convenience HIPAA-compliant?

Yes. All patient data is encrypted, stored securely, and handled in full compliance with HIPAA regulations. We use secure platforms for all communications and medical records.

Membership

What is included in the $69/month membership?

The membership includes 8 async visits per year, 1 annual comprehensive lab panel, discounted $59 video visits, free follow-ups, and access to our Fullscript supplement dispensary. All from licensed Florida providers. Learn more.

Can I cancel my membership?

There is a 3-month minimum commitment ($207 total). After that, cancel anytime with no penalties. Your benefits continue through the end of your billing period.

What is the difference between a single visit and the membership?

A single async visit is $79 (one condition, one visit). The $69/mo membership gives you 8 visits per year, an annual lab panel, discounted video visits, free follow-ups, and Fullscript access — much better value if you need ongoing care.

Does Health Convenience accept insurance?

We do not bill insurance directly. Our flat-fee model ($79/visit or $69/month membership) keeps costs transparent and affordable. You may submit your receipt to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

Wellness Labs

How do I order wellness labs?

Book a $39 provider visit (or use your membership visit). Your provider reviews your health info and places a lab order. You then visit any Quest Diagnostics location — no appointment needed. Results come back in 1–3 business days.

Which labs are included in the wellness panel?

Our comprehensive panel includes 10 tests: CBC, CMP, Lipid Panel, TSH (Thyroid), Hemoglobin A1C, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Iron Panel, Testosterone, and Urinalysis. See full pricing.

How much do wellness labs cost?

The 10-test panel costs $68.77 at Quest Diagnostics. Add a $39 provider visit for a total of $107.77 — saving you over $1,200 compared to the national retail average of $1,321. See the comparison.

How long do lab results take?

Most results are available within 1–3 business days. Your provider will review the results and follow up with you to discuss findings and any recommended next steps.

Medications

How do prescriptions work at Health Convenience?

After your provider reviews your visit, prescriptions are sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy. We do not sell medications directly — you fill them at your pharmacy of choice.

What is Cost Plus Drugs?

Cost Plus Drugs is an online pharmacy that offers medications at transparent, low prices — often under $15/month. We recommend it as an affordable option for filling your prescriptions. See pricing.

Can I use my own pharmacy?

Absolutely. We send prescriptions to any pharmacy you choose — CVS, Walgreens, Cost Plus Drugs, or your local pharmacy. You can also use GoodRx coupons at most retail pharmacies for additional savings.

Privacy & HIPAA

How is my health data protected?

All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use HIPAA-compliant platforms for intake, medical records, and communications. Your information is never sold or shared with third parties.

Who can see my medical records?

Only your assigned provider and our medical director have access to your records. We follow strict HIPAA guidelines for access control and audit logging.

Is telehealth secure?

Yes. Our async telehealth platform uses end-to-end encryption. All provider-patient communications are HIPAA-compliant and transmitted over secure, encrypted connections.

Employers

How do employer telehealth plans work?

Employers choose a Lite ($39/employee/month) or Enhanced ($69/employee/month) plan. Employees get access to unlimited telehealth visits and, on the Enhanced plan, wellness labs and Fullscript dispensary access. $500/month minimum. Learn more.

Is there a minimum number of employees?

There is a $500/month minimum, which accommodates approximately 13 employees on the Lite plan or 8 employees on the Enhanced plan.

How does employee onboarding work?

We provide a dedicated onboarding link for your team. Employees sign up individually and can start using telehealth services immediately. No IT integration required — we handle everything.
